Cancer Patient Navigation

The Patient Navigator Program at Donayre Cancer Care Center links a specially-trained registered nurse with patients and their families to guide them through a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Patient navigators offer:

  • An orientation to cancer services – Patient navigators assist with scheduling appointments, coordination of support services, and communication among care providers.
  • Education – In addition to serving as a resource herself, the patient navigator can recommend cancer education resources.
  • Social Worker:
    • Access to psychosocial support – Donayre Cancer Care Center has oncology and spiritual counselors available for patients and their families. To reach the oncology counselor, please call (910) 641-8220.
    • Community resources – We encourage patients to take advantage of every opportunity available to them, from support groups and counseling to events sponsored by local non-profit agencies.

Patient navigators are available to help all cancer patients. To learn more, please call (910) 640-4077.
